Luc Chalmet is a part-time professor in operations management at the university of Ghent and in applications integration at the university of Antwerp.
Following faculty positions at the University of Florida (USA), and management positions with Alcatel Bell Telephone Company, dr. Chalmet has been a partner with PA Consulting, Arthur D. Little, KPMG Consultants and Unisys Consulting. Today he is working as an independent business coach through his company Cimes.
He is particularly interested in helping companies become more lean and agile. In this context, he has developed the CMI (Company Mass Index) Lean Agility® assessment tool. He has been actively promoting Lean Agility in a variety of different manufacturing sectors, as well as in different service sectors.
Luc Chalmet earned a Doctoral Degree in Applied Sciences (1978) from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium). He is CFPIM and CSCP certified by APICS (The Association for Operations Management) and designated as Master Instructor for the same organisation. Between 1995 and 2008 he served as President of PICS Belgium.
He is co-author of the book “Operationeel Beheer” (Eds. 2007 and 2008).
