This is a one year full time programme, which takes place in Xi’an (9 months) and Antwerp (2 months), and consists of three modules.
Module 1. Language Skills
This module is designed to improve English written and spoken skills as well as its functioning in business contexts.
    • Business English

Module 2. Communication Skills
This module introduces communication theories and communication models, internal and external business communication as well as intercultural communication.
    • Business communication
    • Introduction of Europe: Economy, Culture and Politics
    • Applied Communication Project

Module 3. Management Skills

This module provides an overview of the environment, concepts, and basic differences involved in international business. Topics include forms of foreign involvement, international trade theory, governmental influences on trade and strategies, international organizations, multinational corporations, etc. Upon completion, students should be able to describe the foundation of international business.

Why choose this programme ?
Target group
The “Certificate in International Business Communication (CIBC)” programme has been specially designed for students with an intermediate knowledge of English who want to devote one year of full-time and intensive study to perfecting their knowledge of the language and are planning to engage in the world of business with English as the means of communication.
The programme will stress on the English language and communication skills of students in order to allow them to better face the global business context. The programme also offers a complementary study in economics and management and provides students with specific knowledge about international business management.
The programme provides students with the opportunity, as a preparatory course, to access a one-year master programme at the Antwerp Management School[1].

[1] Yet, the success in this programme does not mean being accepted to the master programme at Antwerp Management School without being admitted through a selection procedure.

Access to Antwerp Management School’ master programme
This programme is also designed as a preparatory programme for the master degree programmes at Antwerp Management School. The participants who successfully complete the CIBC programme and passed the additional selection procedure will be admitted to the master degree programme of Global Management at Antwerp Management School.

Terms of admission

The CIBC programme is an intensive programme of one academic year designed for 1) Graduates who recently finished a three-years high education programme; 2) Fourth year bachelor students, who want to combine their bachelor degree with a certificate in management. The programme requires a high degree of commitment and motivation.

The applicants should meet the following conditions:

  • Fourth-year students of a BA programme in business, law or economics or any other relevant field;
  • Students graduated from a three year university degree programme in business, law or economics or any other relevant field with excellent academic score

The programme is taught in English by faculty members of both Antwerp Management School and Xi'an University of Finance and Economics

Participants who successfully complete the programme will be awarded the Certificate of International Business Communication of Antwerp Management School

Registration
Registration modalities
The application deadline is April, 30th. However, it is strongly recommended to apply early, as the availability of slots in the later stages of the admission period will diminish when earlier applicants are admitted.
The selection takes place in Xi’an in May and consists of on writing exam and interviews.
The written notification of the results of the admission will be communicated to the applicants within one month after the completing of the selection procedure.
  • The applicants should provide the following documents:
    • Application form
    • Academic records, photocopies of the Certificates and Diplomas of all previous studies.
    • Photocopy of the passport or identification document (ID) and four pictures
    • Curriculum Vitae
    • A motivation statement for the above study programme

13 students of the first CIBC programme (2006/2007) just graduated with a Master Degree of Global Management from the Antwerp Management School-Antwerp Management School

18 students of the second CIBC programme (2007/2008) started their Master of Global Management programme on September 15 at the Antwerp Management School-Antwerp Management School
