Description
Setting

The field of Operations and Supply Chain Management has evolved tremendously over the past decade due to:

  • Globalization of business
  • Rapidly changing markets
  • Increasing competition
  • Servitization of manufacturing companies
  • Society and legal requirements
  • Global information and communications technologies

As a result, our concepts and models for excellence in operations and supply chain management have changed, improved and adapted in a rapid pace.

Every manager of any organization manages operations and therefore has to acquire a fundamental understanding of managing them: designing, planning, executing, controlling and driving them towards real contributors of success. ‘Lean Thinking’ and ‘Agility’ are the driving business imperatives that can bring excellence to operations, supported and enhanced by integrated ICT (information and communications technology) solutions. Managing change is the dominant factor in all these evolutions, and people are providing the momentum or will be the barriers for change. All conceptual approaches must therefore be made people-centered such that implementing changes in operations becomes a continuing challenging business experience where all stakeholders can enjoy the benefits.

This executive program combines concepts of excellence in operations and supply chains with practical realism through case work, workshops and discussions with practitioners.

Operations and Supply Chain Management for Executives focuses on the following themes:

  • The evolution of Operations and Supply Chain Management
  • Challenges for Operations and Supply Chain Management in a Global Economy
