Strategy for Executives

In an increasingly volatile environment, the ability to strategise has become more and more important. Developments in the economy shift rapidly, markets are in flux, customers’ demands are ever-changing and competitors are continuously searching for ways to change the rules of the game – managers need to have the ability to understand what is going on and find a way to chart a course through the changing currents. Better yet, instead of riding the waves of change, they should have the ability to make the waves in their industry. All this makes the skill of thinking strategically an important quality that managers need to develop as best as they can.
This programme offers a compact three-day overview of the key strategic challenges facing managers and explores many of the solutions that successful companies have recently developed. A wide spectrum of modern strategy gurus will be reviewed, to give you an up-to-date picture of the state-of-the-art of strategic thinking. However, the emphasis of the program is not on giving you simple solutions, but on building your ability to think strategically yourself. You will be challenged to view strategic issues from a variety of perspectives, thus strengthening your analytical and creative strategising competence.
It must be stressed that strategy is not only the domain of top management – in modern organisations all managers and senior professionals are expected to be able to think strategically and contribute to the process of formulating and implementing strategy. Increasingly, strategies emerge bottom-up, co-created by highly educated individuals, who see the need for changing the direction of the organisation or have ideas for innovation or changing the business model. This means that it is also the responsibility of a larger group of people in the organisation to be strategically developed. That probably also includes you…
