Barry teaches in both the master classes and executive master's program IT Security and Risk Management at Antwerp Management School.
He also teaches IT audit, compliance & advisory at the University of Amsterdam.

Barry is a lecturer, researcher, manager and entrepreneur.
He is a pragmatic manager with over 20 years of experience in Security, IT, IT Risk, PCI/DSS, ISO27001&2, ISAE3402, internal controls, architecture experience. In the last 4 years he was ad interim manager at International Card Services, a credit card issuer in the Netherlands.

Until 2017, he was manager at Stedin for 5 years, where he was responsible for the Business & Information Management department. His span
of control ranges between 80 and 150 employees focused on: security &
compliance, information management / digital strategy, Architecture, Business
Intelligence, energy transition, business consulting and IT management.
Barry worked as a manager at several organizations all related to realizing business value with IT. As a manager/expert he helped several organizations realize cyber security including organizational change.

Barry is also an international speaker, lecturer at several universities and author of 15 books, more than 30 research reports and more than 100 papers.

The book "Trends in IT" is the bestseller with more than 400,000 copies sold. Barry, along with Dr. Jerry Luftman , was also principal investigator of the Global Strategic Information Management, a study consisting of a team of researchers from various universities around the world (e.g., China, Peru, Australia, Mexico, USA).
