Lou Van Beirendonck has been associated with Antwerp Management School for over 20 years. A few years ago he became academic director of the Master Class in HRM. He has been professor in various master's programs and master classes at Antwerp Management School for many years. In 2022 he became academic director of the Executive Master Public Governance & Leadership.

    The unique combination of a scientific foundation and thorough professional experience make every class Lou van Beirendonck teaches an unforgettable experience. He is a brilliant speaker capable of enthralling any audience. He is an in-demand speaker at national and international congresses.

    Because he is a visiting professor at numerous management and business schools besides the role he has in Antwerp Management School, it is quite hard to find a type of HR-professional Lou has not encountered during his career. We can say with ease that Lou has coached an entire generation of Belgian HR professionals from all sectors in competence thinking and assessment centers. Lou Van Beirendonck is also the pioneer in assessment centers in Belgium and an authority in the field of competence- and talent management.

    From a deep-seated conviction that honest, respectful and correct feedback gives people the best guarantee to their own growth, he started Quintessence Consulting in the late 80s, a consultancy bureau specialized in integrated competence- and talent management which he leads up till this very day. Between 2005 and 2010 his ideas concerning the innovative concept “talent” were collected in a doctoral study at the University of Tilburg. This work already held the first contours of Purple Management, a scientifically funded vision on sustainable management of people ànd organizations.

    Up till this day Lou has published 12 books, a number of which were translated into French and English. He holds master's degrees in Organization Psychology, Executive Business Administration and Organization Development from the KULeuven and the University of Antwerp.
