Prof. dr. Michaël Peeters is Professor of ESG and Digital Initiatives at Antwerp Management School and an Assistant Professor at Delft University of Technology. He specializes in sustainable finance and smart building technologies, with a focus on how sustainability and digital innovations influence real estate valuation and investment decision-making. Recently, he started to research Quantum Finance and its applications in the same field. He has an engineering background in micro-electronics and holds an Executive Master in Real Estate at AMS. Michaël obtained his PhD in Engineering Management from the University of Antwerp as part of a joint executive PhD program with Antwerp Management School (2021).
His academic focus lies at the intersection of sustainability, technology, and finance. He is researching Sustainable Finance, Quantum Finance, sustainability reporting, and links with AI, IoT, and WEB3 applications.
Michaël is also an entrepreneur in the PropTech and sustainable real estate domain. In 2019, he co-founded LAMMP, a partner that bridges finance and sustainability. LAMMP helps to make the construction and real estate market smarter and more sustainable and acts as a DBFMO partner. Since then, he has launched or advised several other ventures focused on smart buildings, IoT-driven data analytics, and innovative "building-as-a-service" financing models for sustainability. These initiatives translate his research insights into practice by optimizing building performance and value through technology and new business models.
Earlier in his career, Michaël worked as a consultant and product manager, leading digital transformation projects in real estate and energy management. He developed data-driven solutions to improve building operations and helped institutional clients integrate new technologies into their property portfolios. This extensive industry experience complements his academic role, reflecting a hands-on, startup mindset that drives innovation in both his research and entrepreneurial endeavors.
