"How can we enhance the efficiency of supply chains?" We will highlight global trends and show you how making supply chains more efficient also makes them more sustainable. You will learn how to optimize logistics, transport, and planning for a more sustainable and efficient supply chain.

Session 2: Connected supply chains - Considering the bigger ecosystem and managing stakeholders

We will have a closer look at the principles of working in ecosystems and stakeholder governance. This will allow you to start creating and designing sustainable networks and connections for specific challenges and problems. Taking an ecosystem perspective requires an innovative mindset, supported by tools and methods.

Session 3: Socially responsible and nature-positive supply chains - Sustainable sourcing and purchasing

We will look into how you can optimize your company’s footprint, reduce social risk exposure, and enhance your company’s reputation. You will learn which tools you can use to assess the impact on biodiversity, natural resources, and global warming.

Session 4: Assessment of sustainable supply chains - Industry and academic insights to verify your supply chain

On the last day, we will dive into essential topics of supply chain assessment and collaboration. You will explore a powerful tool co-developed by the University of Antwerp and industry experts, offering insights into supply chain efficiency and sustainability. Next to that, you will gain valuable strategies from the Sustainable Trade Initiative on convening stakeholders, fostering co-creation, and securing co-financing for tackling value chain challenges.

Learning outcomes

At the end of this Master Class you will be able to:

  • understand the major trends that are shaping supply chains globally and how they impact society and the environment;
  • recognize and work within a bigger ecosystem;
  • manage your stakeholders;
  • identify, discuss, and apply relevant concepts, methods and tools to achieve responsible and circular supply chains;
  • reflect on management systems to support responsible and circular supply chains, including how to measure and report performance.
