Marc Deloof is professor of finance at the University of Antwerp and Antwerp Management School. Prior to joining the University of Antwerp in 2000, he was a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow of the Flemish Fund for Scientific Research (FWO) after receiving his PhD from the Free University of Brussels in 1996. He was also visiting professor at the Hull University Business School, the University of Calabria and the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing, and he held part-time positions at the Louvain School of Management, the Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School, Ghent University, and Hasselt University.
While he has a broad interest in the fields of corporate finance and corporate governance, his current research focuses on entrepreneurial finance, finance in multinational business groups and financial history. He has supervised several PhD students, received substantial research grants, and published in a wide range of international academic journals. These include journals in the fields of finance & accounting (Review of Accounting Studies, Journal of Corporate Finance, Financial Management, European Financial Management, Journal of Business Finance and Accounting, European Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting Auditing and Finance, International Journal of Accounting), small business (Small Business Economics, Journal of Small Business Management, Family Business Review), economic history (Explorations in Economic History, Cliometrica, Business History, Financial History Review), management (Corporate Governance – An International Review, Managerial and Decision Economics) and economics (Applied Economics).
