Selected Contributions

  • Sustainable Communication Masterclass (2025): designed and facilitated the 2-day program for mid-career and executive professionals from companies such as Baloise, Unilever, Barco, J&J and others. Sessions addressed global and European trends, the ethics of greenwashing, and storytelling for sustainability.
  • Keynote for The Shift (2025) – Storytelling for Sustainability: delivered to 54 professionals from organizations such as Colruyt, IKEA, and KU Leuven; evaluated as “inspiring” and “highly relevant.”
  • Keynote and research at Interzoo (2024): presented at the world’s largest international trade fair for pet supplies, focusing on sustainability in the pet food and pet toy industry.
  • Een human capital roadmap voor het Vlaams Klimaatadaptatieplan (VIONA-programma, for the Flemish Minister of Work and the Department of Work and Social Economy): research into workforce needs and skills for climate adaptation.
  • Jury member for the VOKA SDG Champion and previously for the Best Belgian Sustainability Report Award.
  • Award-winning public speaker with leadership experience in international speaking organizations.

Ongoing Research

  • BIOLOOP (cSBO project with UGent, VITO/MooV, AMS, Flanders’ Food, Catalisti, Flux50): behavioral insights and stakeholder engagement in developing four Decision Support Models for optimizing biomass logistics in Flanders.
  • Duurzame transitie van de sociale economie (for Departement Werk, Economie, Wetenschap, Innovatie en Sociale Economie): research on opportunities for the social economy in sustainability transitions.

Profile
Kateryna Podkalenko is Researcher and Program & Relationship Manager at Antwerp Management School, where she connects research, business, and policy in sustainability transitions. She develops and delivers executive education on sustainable communication and reporting, drawing on experience facilitating corporate leadership groups with companies such as J&J, Bpost, KPMG, and Brussels Airport, and coaches international master’s students in Global Leadership.

With a background in geography and marketing, she combines academic expertise with professional experience in AI and marketing automation, previously working with companies including De Bijenkorf, Jumbo, and Het Financieele Dagblad. Her work focuses on strengthening communication, collaboration, and decision-making in complex sustainability challenges.
