Prof. dr. Peter Verhezen is a Professor for Business in Emerging Markets, Strategy, and Governance & Sustainability at the University of Antwerp, and Geopolitics and Global History & Philosophy at the Antwerp Management School.
From 2006 till 2018, Peter was Associate Professor for Corporate Governance & Ethical Leadership at the University of Melbourne and Adjunct Professor for Business & Risk Management in Asian Emerging Markets at the Melbourne Business School. He was also a Research Fellow for Governance (2010-2012) at the Harvard Kennedy School.
Peter is co-founder and partner at The Boardroom Partnership Think Tank that specializes in Board Advisory focusing on sustainability, integrated risk management and corporate governance, with a focus on Southeast Asian and Middle East emerging markets. He co-founded and ran as CEO a software consulting company (Cimad Pacific) in Southeast Asia & Australia for 15 years till sold to Booz & Co (PCW) in 2007. For 6 years, he collaborated with International Finance Corporation (IFC) – World Bank Group as a senior consultant addressing corporate governance issues in the Asia Pacific region. He started his career as a consultant at IBM 4 decades ago.
He travels back and forth between Belgium and Singapore/Indonesia, while residing in Bali with his family.
