Antwerp Management School (AMS) congratulates Bart Willocx, AMS alumnus of our Master in Public Management and President of the Antwerp Court of Appeal on being named Public Manager of the Year 2026 by the Flemish Association for Administration and Policy (VVBB). This prestigious award recognizes exceptional merit in improving public policy and service delivery.

Since earning his Master in Public Management from AMS in 2011, Bart has actively contributed to a wide range of initiatives within and beyond the justice sector. He is involved in organizing the annual 'Dag van de Rechtsstaat' and serves as chairman of the TEJO center in Dendermonde, where young people between 14 and 17 can easily access support and guidance. Since his appointment as President of the Antwerp Court of Appeal in April 2024, he has also been actively involved in the ‘5 voor 12’-campaign, raising awareness about ongoing challenges in the judiciary.

Bart’s leadership is a testament to the positive impact that dedicated public servants can have. His commitment to transparency, accessibility, and innovation within the justice system sets a powerful example for the next generation of leaders.
