Prof. dr. Raphael von Heereman is an experienced consultant and academic with more than 35 years of distinguished leadership in the international airline industry. He has held senior positions at Qatar Airways, TUI, and Lufthansa, where he contributed to strategic development, organizational transformation, and regulatory affairs. Having lived and worked in South America and the Middle East, he brings deep intercultural competence and a global perspective to his teaching and consulting.
He studied Law at the University of Münster and obtained his PhD in Spanish labor law at the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela. His academic interests lie at the intersection of law, management, and international business, with a particular focus on highly regulated industries. An important dimension of his teaching is the transfer of knowledge and insights from more than three decades of experience in global business practice.
At the University of Antwerp (Faculty of Management) and the Antwerp Management School, Raphael serves as an Adjunct Professor. He teaches courses on Public Affairs in an Era of Disruption, European Economic Policy, and Sustainable Aviation (Green Aviation).
