Module 1: Accounting (5 sessions)

You start with the basic accounting rules and learn how to read and understand annual accounts. Next, you will zoom in on the use of ratios in financial analysis, extensively discussing solvency, liquidity and profitability. During the section 'management accounting' you will work on cost price calculation and break-even analysis and you will learn how cost information can contribute to making policy decisions.

Module 2: Financial management (3 sessions)

You will become acquainted with the main aspects of financial management within a company. You will learn all about financial planning and budgeting, ranging from the management of net working capital, cash planning and accounts receivable management to budget techniques, processes and strategies. This module also covers the main principles of investment analysis, based on the calculation and analysis of relevant cash flows. You will be given insight into the main forms of financing and you will discuss recent developments in financing.

Module 3: Strategic management (2 sessions)

You will become acquainted with the main building blocks for the development and implementation of a solid strategy and you will learn how to apply them in practice.

You will zoom in on techniques of integrated performance management based on relevant indicators. You will conclude with insights into strategy innovation and the transformation of your organization.

Individual development track

You can expand this master class with a personal development and coaching track. Together with an experienced coach you zoom in on the strategic and financial development of your organization during three individual sessions of 1,5 hours each. The content of these sessions will be fully tailored to your personal needs and/or those of your organization.

Learning outcomes

At the end of this program, you will be able to:

  • get more out of your balance sheets and P&L accounts;
  • be a competent sparring partner for your financial colleagues and management directors;
  • correctly interpret financial data;
  • make well-founded decisions based on financial information;
  • have a broad strategic perspective on your organization;
