Curriculum & Faculty

This program has a flexible set-up: you can register for the full program or by module.

Want to go for the full program? You'll get immersed in all aspects of change management, from start to finish. But if you prefer to only dig deeper in 1 theme or module, that is also perfectly possible.

Each module lasts three days and zooms in on 1 overarching topic:

  • Module 1: Defining the change project. What is the scope of the project, and how is your organization (currently) structured?
  • Module 2: Defining the change strategy. How do you design the path to change, and what's the desired outcome?
  • Module 3: Leading the change process. How do you guide change as a manager, what actions will you take to engage people?

Module 1: Defining the change project

Before you start, you need to know how your organization works and what makes it tick the way it does. What does the structure look like, and why? What will be easy to change and what will not?

During this module you will focus on:
  • analysis of the situation 'as-is' versus '(desired) to-be';
  • organizational structure and business model;
  • organizational culture;
  • organizational dynamics: motivating and engaging staff, and the importance of teamwork.
After following this module:
  • you can map how complex organizations function;
  • you will have better insight into the formal and informal aspects of an organization;
  • you know how to formulate a change trajectory.

Module 2: Defining the change strategy

How do you start a change process? What challenges do you expect to encounter? Are all stakeholders on board? Is it clear to everyone what needs to happen to get the job done, and are they capable to do it?

During this module you will focus on:
  • formulating a strategic plan;
  • mobilizing stakeholders (what’s at stake for everyone?);
  • acquiring political skills and influencing techniques;
  • implementing and adjusting your change strategy.
After following this module:
  • you know how to outline a change strategy;
  • you have a better view on the political aspects of change processes;
  • learn to unveil the motivation and power of stakeholders;
  • you will recognize the most important change challenges you need to prepare for.

Module 3: Leading the change process

What are the concrete change interventions you need in order to get started and make progress? Who should take on which role in the change process? What is your role as a change manager and how can you lead everyone involved through the entire process?

During this module you will focus on:
  • the importance of leadership and the translation of your strategy to your employees;
  • project management;
  • trust and resistance;
  • embedding a change mindset in your organizational culture to stay future-proof.
After following this module:
  • you can outline a change action plan;
  • you know how to mobilize colleagues and stakeholders;
  • you have a broad range of change interventions at your disposal;
  • you understand how to manage (the change process) and lead (people) in a change trajectory.
