Challenge 1: sustainable human resources

How does strategic HRM fit in with the corporate strategy? How does HRM play into global trends? How do we evolve from personnel management to sustainable HRM? ‘Managing human resources’ is about the role of HR professionals as problem solvers.

Challenge 2: talent & competence management

How do we combine the perspectives of both the organization and the employees in terms of key competencies and available talent? How do we support employees in their career path and how can we facilitate a flexible career mobility and follow-up? How can we be an attractive employer and retain employees for as long as both parties find it relevant?

Challenge 3: managing performance

How can HRM contribute to the organization’s performance? Which are the typical HR key indicators? What are metrics and analytics? How can we work evidence based with HRM? How does innovation contribute to the improvement of HR performance? Should we still use performance reviews and evaluations, or should we just do away with them?

Challenge 4: organizational design, compensation & benefits, social consultation

Organizational structure and design are increasingly the responsibility of HR professionals. How do we design work? How do we organize ourselves? The importance of teams, work flexibility, and roles rather than functions is ever increasing. With our academic experts in organizational design, we consider the most efficient organizational structure for your organization. How can we redesign classic organizational charts to create agile organizations where employees have more autonomy, are deployed according to their talents, and achieve greater motivation and job satisfaction? You can also encourage positive behavior through customized compensation and benefits; flexibilization, in particular, is a hot topic here. Finally, we also examine social consultation: How do we transform the classic combat model into a cooperation model? How do we conduct constructive and sustainable consultations?

Challenge 5: leading change

What is the role of the HR professional in realizing change? How are leadership and change connected? How do we set up leadership development?

Challenge 6: consulting

While we focus in this master class on the knowledge domain of HRM, we also emphasize an essential skill: consulting. As an HR professional, you must understand and correctly address the needs of your organization. HR professionals act as internal consultants, advisors, and coaches; thus, consulting skills are crucial.
