SAFARI: Safe, climate resilient infrastructure
SAFARI is dedicated to developing a digital platform to enhance the resilience of port infrastructure, ensuring operational efficiency and safety during extreme weather events.
PIONEERS: A green revolution for ports
The PIONEERS project represents an ambitious European initiative, bringing together a consortium of over 45 partners—spanning ports, academic institutions, and industry leaders—to redefine ports as sustainable, resilient, and intelligent hubs. At its core, the project is anchored by the Lighthouse Port of Antwerp, supported by the follower ports of Barcelona, Constanta, and Venlo. These ports function as living laboratories for innovations in clean energy, digitalization, sustainable infrastructure, and multimodal logistics. Through collaborative innovation and the expertise of its diverse partners, PIONEERS is establishing new standards for sustainability and delivering practical, scalable solutions to achieve climate-neutral port operations on a global scale.

Watertruck+
Watertruck is an innovative means of transportation for freight transport over small waterways, which uses small, self-driven or non-driven, standardized pushed barges. Combined with small or large ecofriendly push tugs, used in convoys, the concept ensures maximum flexibility for the activities, while keeping a maximum regional accessibility by connecting the small waterways with the TEN-T network.

ZoZo – Van zorg(zaam) onderzoek naar zorg(zaam) ontwerp
The department of architecture at the KU Leuven has lots of data as a result of over eight years or user research in the care sector. How can companies use that data for the development of new services, products, buildings, spaces… in the care sector?
Watertruck
With Watertruck we wanted to further develop the freight transport on small waterways and optimize it with the introduction of a new navigation concept consisting of a push tug and fitted pushed barges. As a result, an efficient and flexible road transport model is applied to inland navigation
