Ben Broeckx is Executive Professor Internal Auditing at the Antwerp Management School and faculty risk management at Solvay Brussels School. He is Chief Audit Executive of the Belgian Development Agency, which is responsible for delivering Belgian bilateral development aid to developing countries. He started his career with Arthur Andersen Belgium in 1995 and joined its internal audit team in 1997, performing and coordinating internal audits throughout Western and Eastern Europe. He became a Certified Internal Auditor in 1999. He joined Andersen's public sector team in 1999 and was responsible for a number of reengineering project for the Belgian federal government in the period 1999 - 2003.
Together with one of his clients, he developed a comprehensive risk management methodology which was awarded the European Strategic Risk Management Award in 2009. In 2008 he joined KPMG’s public sector team, where he assisted different Belgian and Flemish organizations in strategic assessments of their risk exposures while remaining actively involved as a trainer in preparing technically proficient people in presenting to an audience. As of 2011 he assumed the role as CAE for BTC/CTB and started teaching for Solvay Brussels School in 2012, mainly working with large multilateral organizations.
